Laughing all the way...

Christmas around here is always a healthy mix of the giddy family cheer the postcards advertise and the feeling of stumbling across the finish line of a race that we didn't train for.

Thanks to some badly planned management meetings for Jacob's Mom the week before Christmas (not my decision) and a transition to a new position at work for Jacob's Dad (which started December 26 - crazy!), this year seemed to lean more toward the stumbling feeling.

But lest we not forget. Last Christmas Jacob was a sad sad sack - suffering from infantile spasms although we didn't know it at the time. Last year the week after Christmas we were in the ER starting a three month diagnosis and treatment odyssey that we still to this day don't even like to think about.

So this Christmas? This Christmas Jacob is a happy healthy little boy. This Christmas we were gleefully determined to enjoy.... stumbling along the way or not.

And enjoy we did.

There was paper...

Hanging out with Grandparents...

FaceTime with family far away...

More paper... (although you had to get it off the boxes first which was a LOT of work)

Neighborhood lights... (Disclaimer: Not our house)

And of course... the stuff inside those paper covered boxes...

  1. Stumbling or not, it looks like a cheerful, happy time for Jacob and mom and dad with his families near and far. And, oh the paper!
